Today's goal was to see how poor my calorie count was and to work to remedy it from there.
pre breakfast: t3 and diet mountain dew (what a start to the day!)
Breakfast:
FF yogurt: 120 cals
Iced non fat latte- 90
bagel w/ cream cheese- 350 (I'm guessing on the c/c)
Breakfast total: 560
Snack: 2 breakfast cookies @ 180 each
Snack total: 360
Lunch: (this is a guess estimate)
Turkey sandwich: 410
crackers: 200
hummus: 150
sherbert: 240
Lunch total: 1000 (shit)
Workout: carrying boxes up and down stairs for 15 mins
Walk to and from T: 10 mins
Subtotal: 1920 and I haven't had dinner yet.
Based on my BMR courtesy of I've already eaten over my calorie allotment for today.
So looks like some veggies and protein for dinner and try to get some exercise in. I do know where I need to work on eating and whatnot. It's just hard when you don't have a lot of money and good, fresh food is EXPENSIVE, especially when you are on the dole LOL.

I'll tell you where you went wrong: The bagel. The average bagel has at least 300 calories, plus at least 100 calories for the cream cheese. You're better off having a bowl of cereal (I like Special K) for 160 calories (that includes the milk). Bagels not only have a lot of calories, they're also chock full of carbs, which equal sugar.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I aim for my snacks to be under 200 calories. I like eating veggies and fruits for snacks because they're A) relatively low in calories and B)they're FULL of fibre, which is EXCELLENT. You can also eat more of them, so you don't feel like you're starving yourself.
That BMR calculator was the key to my weightloss, I'm not even kidding. I would not have been able to do it without it.
Also, a typical lunch should be no more than 600 calories. I would have stuck with the sandwich and, instead of the crackers, dip celery in the hummus.
ReplyDeleteI totally know. It's just hard in the mornings where I work now, I can't really eat breakfast in this classroom unless it is portable, and since I have to take the T now I have less time. I normally have a breakfast cookie or cereal and yogurt but today idk why I was craving the bagel.
ReplyDeleteI wish fruits and veggies were cheaper here. It was almost 3 dollars for baby carrots here. Are prices cheaper in Canada?
Baby carrots are a money suck. Buy regular carrots and slice them yourself. You save money, and you don't consume the extra chlorine and other preservative chemicals they soak the pre-cut ones in.
ReplyDeleteVeggies are pretty expensive right now. Do you have a local farmer's market? They're usually cheaper than the grocery stores and it's way more fun to shop there!
Our local farmer's market features quiche, $8 bread and $5 heads of lettuce. I was shocked when I went! I expected an abundance of cheaper fruits and veggies!
ReplyDeleteI know. It was another bad choice. That is why I did this, so I could see all the bad choices I've been making and figure how to make better ones.
